What RoninBox is and how it helps your gym
Published on
What RoninBox is, in one sentence: the software a box or gym uses to manage its classes, members and payments from the browser. You don’t need to install anything on a computer: everything is on a website that the owner, the coaches and the members all use at the same time.
What it does for your gym
Section titled “What it does for your gym”- Classes. You set up the weekly schedule once and RoninBox creates the classes. Members sign up from the calendar and, if the class is full, they join the waitlist.
- Members. Each member has their profile, their status and their history. You can sign up a member and assign them a plan.
- Payments. Each month a monthly fee is created for each member, with what they owe. You can record payments manually, take cash at the gym and, if you ask RoninBox to turn it on, accept online payments.
- Communication. You send messages to members and post announcements that they receive as notifications.
- Team and training. You assign coaches to classes, post the WODs, and members save their personal records (RMs).
Who uses it
Section titled “Who uses it”| Who | What they do | Screen |
|---|---|---|
| Owner or administrator | Sets up the gym, signs up members, manages classes and payments | Admin dashboard |
| Coach | Teaches classes, sees who’s coming, takes cash payments | Member screen with extra options |
| Member | Books classes, checks what they owe, saves their records | Member screen |
Each role’s permissions are in Roles and permissions.
The three types of screens
Section titled “The three types of screens”- Admin dashboard. It has a side menu on the left with all the sections. Administrators see it. It’s the screen this manual covers most of the time.
- Member screen. It has no side menu: it has a bar with five buttons at the bottom (Home, Access or Notifications, Calendar, Billing and Profile). Members see it, and so do coaches.
- Public screens. The one for logging in with username and password, the one for activating a new account and the one for resetting your password. You don’t need to be logged in to see them.
What each person sees on their home screen is in Home dashboard.
Next step
Section titled “Next step”If your gym is new, follow the getting started guide. It takes you from zero to your first member with a plan and classes on the calendar.
