To send a message to a member in RoninBox, open the message inbox and tap Write message. Each conversation is a thread: a subject and, below it, the chat between the box and that member. A member can have several threads open with the box, one per subject, so different conversations don’t get mixed up.

Tap the messages icon in the top bar (marker 1). Unread messages opens: the threads with new messages, showing the member, the subject and the last thing they wrote. See all messages opens the full inbox.

The inbox has three filters (marker 2): All, Unread and Closed, plus a search by member or subject. Each thread shows who it’s addressed to and whether it’s closed.

When opening a thread, the member chooses who at the box reads it:

  • Anyone at the box: management and coaches read and reply.
  • Management only: only the box administration.

Coaches see the Gym messages card on their home screen with the threads sent to “Anyone at the box”.

  1. Open the thread. Messages sent to you are marked as read.
  2. Type in the box at the bottom. To attach images, tap the image icon; for a video, paste its link.
  3. Tap Send or press Ctrl + Enter.

Your message appears in the chat right away with your name and the box’s name. When the member reads it, Read appears below it. The member gets an email (one per thread until they open it) and, if they have the app, a notification.

  1. In the inbox, tap Write message (marker 3 in the first image).

  2. Choose the Recipient (marker 1). Type at least three letters of their name, username or email.

  3. Enter the Subject (marker 2).

  4. Choose who at the box can follow the thread in Visible to (marker 3).

  5. Write the message (marker 4) and, if you like, Add images (marker 5).

  6. Tap Send (marker 6). The thread opens.

When a matter is resolved, open it and tap Close topic. The thread can still be read, but nobody can reply in it: the member will see that it’s closed and the option to start a new thread. To continue the conversation there, tap Reopen.

A thread also closes automatically after 30 days with no messages. If you reply in one, it reopens.

In the inbox, each thread has the Archive button. It removes the thread from your inbox; the member still sees it and nothing is deleted. If the member writes in it again, it reappears.

  • I can’t find the member in the recipient field. The search needs at least three letters.
  • A coach can’t see a thread. The member addressed it to Management only.
  • The member can’t reply. The thread is closed; they can start a new one, or you can reopen it.
